PRAY FOR THE MINISTERS OF THE GOSPEL.
The Bible commands us to pray for those who are preaching the gospel.The devil’s target is focused on those who lead the body of Christ in building the kingdom of God on earth.The strategy of the devil is to “paint the ministers black” and to incite believers against those who lead them.This he does through negative publicity, false accusation, pointing out the mistakes they have done to prove to the world that they do not deserve honour and respect.The church should be careful not to be consumed in these lies of the devil,but instead we should cover the ministers of the gospel with prayer and intercession.The plan of the devil is to strike the shepherds so that the sheep can scatter.(Matthew 26:31).
We may not believe in everything the ministers of the gospel are doing but our role is not to judge them, even for those who stumble in doctrine,character,vision,speech or integrity.We must appreciate the power of reconciliation in the grace of God,just like it happened to Abraham who stumbled twice ,yet through reconciliation he remains the “father of faith”.David stumbled twice,yet after repentance he remains”man after Gods heart”.Peter denied Jesus three times but wept in repentance and Jesus entrusted him with the leadership of the early church and he did exploits for the kingdom of God.If any minister stumbles ,believers,ought to pray for his/her reconciliation to God.
Noah drank wine and exposed his nudeness to his family.His son Ham saw his father in such a condition and exposed his fathers shame.He was cursed and lived under a curse the rest of his life.Shem and Japheth took up a garment and covered the nakedeness of their father not to bring shame.It was counted righteous for them.It is time the believers took the place of Shem and cover the ministers of the gospel with intercessory prayers.Jesus discerning the plans of the devil to destroy peter,because of his zeal and determination in the vision prayed for peter that his faith would not fail.Luke 22:31.
“Simon Simon,Satan has asked to sift you as wheat.32.But I have prayed for you,simon that your faith may not fail.And when you have turned back,strengthen your brothers.”The purpose of this book is to stir up the body of Christ to pray for the ministers and ministries with an impact in the body of Christ,because the greater the responsibility the greater the persecution from the World and the devil.God also requires greater measure of return from those that have been given much to steward.(Luke 12:48).They require much prayer and support for maximum fruit to be produced by the grace given to them by the Lord.It is important to “cast bread upon many waters”by being a blessing to the blessed .
