ØA certain leader said “ there are so many leaders but very little leadership because leaders don’t invest to Know their mission & Role” Disciples spent 3 years with Jesus, Architects / engineers/ Doctors 6 years. But Kingdom workers representing highest institution NO MUCH DEAL - IF YOU ARE CALLED GO.
Ø World class leaders need world class training. Even if some leaders in Business or Ministry have ascended without education, they have needed education to sustain success and go to higher levels.
ØThe more talent you have the more you need education and training to have the capacity to deliver services that are related to talent and gifting in EXELLENCE
ØGod anoints your learning and education to give it grace to grow. God called the learned Paul and used his intellect, wisdom, Knowledge and exposure to write scripture, reach Kings in a way nobody else would. God allowed Moses to be educated as an Egyptian child of King in greatest institutions then anointed him to lead the people and write scripture.
ØOne of the prices to pay as a leader is learning to stay relevant TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE EVER LEARNING AND TO YOUR ASSIGNMENT DYNAMICS WHICH ARE EVER CHANGING AND ADVANCING IN TECHNOLOGY / CULTURE CHANGES.
Ø An effective leader is a disciplined leader. Discipline is training that develops self control, character or orderliness and efficiency. You can buy information but you cannot buy character formations. GOD WANTS LEADERS TO BE FOCUSED IN KINGDOM DISCILINE ETHICS.
ØDiscipline and training if properly received teaches you how to deal with issues of pride, arrogance and idealism. Discipline put you in touch with realities of life and helps you to deal with adversity and suffering.
ØYou cannot be a good leader until you learn how to be a good follower. The people who follow you will be as a REAPING RESULT OF HOW YOU FOLLOWED SOMEBODY ELSE AND SERVE THEM. The APOSTLES became first followers before they became LEADERS, Moses, Joshua , Elisha were a follower Before becoming A LEADER.
ØEducation OF Kingdom leadership will make you relevant in a changing society , Make you global relevancy through the education CULTURE, Make you more VALUEABLE TO DELIVER, Make you bond IN UNITY WITH OTHERS EASILY, PROMOTE POSITVE PERSONALITY, Develop stewardship.
ØA Leaders who invests to BE ABOVE THE PEOPLE HE IS LEADING will be confident when leading them without exhibiting DEFENCE MECHANISMS OF rejection, aggression, threat, Inferiority in purpose and HIS LEADERSHIP HAS NO DISTORTION.
ØA Leaders who invests to be ahead of those he leads will automatically recive NATURAL HONOUR from those he leads.
ØA Leader will attract HIS KIND, THE WHOLE WORLD IS PACING TOWARDS INFORMATION / EDUCATION, If we have hope to lead the world we must seek to be above the world.
Ø The character ethics of Kingdom leadership are basic principles of effective living integrity, humility, fidelity, temperance, courage, justice, patience, industry, simplicity, modesty and the golden rule.
ØStudy without experience is aloof and untested. Therefore Kingdom leaders should not TRUST IN HEAD KNOWLEDGE BUT HOLYSPIRIT EXPERIENCES in growing in Leadership.
ØExperience without study is subjective and unfocused. IT CANNOT STAND THE EFFECTS OF TIME.
ØYou need both experience and study if you’re going to be an effective leader.
ØEducation and discipline makes a great leader and COMPLETES HIM TO EXHIBIT EXELLENCE AND MAKES HIM VALUE.
ØKINGDOM LEADERS lead Professionals and Business people who always invest time in seminars, summits, Universities and we HAVE NO ALTERNATIVE EXEPT TO MEET THERE STANDARDS BY STAYING INFORMED BECAUSE “ THE BAR IS ALREADY RAISED TO HIGH”.
ØIt’s painful to lead when people do not want to be led, BUT people will automatically SUBMIT to a Leader whom they identify as a source and oasis of livelihood. LET US FILL OUR LIFES WITH SPIRITUAL RESOURCES AND INFORMATION THAT PEOPLE WILL DESIRE TO HAVE. In the mouth of a priest must be filled with law and understanding so that people can come and access resource for their day to day living.
ØLeadership is influence not control, unless you develop spiritual & intellectual capacity to influence, you cannot achieve the NATURAL STATUS TO LEAD.
ØLeadership is service, NOT TITLES FIRST, that is why Jesus washed the feet of the disciples to indicated the levels of HUMBLE SERVICE REQUIRED FOR KINGDOM LEADERS. Without an attitude of service, a leader runs the risk or being threatened by others who are more gifted and talented and allow that insecurity to hind their growth or usefulness to their organization
Ø A Kingdom servant leader is servant first THEN A LEADER and will find himself in position of serving others as HE RECIEVES FROM OTHERS. Jesus was a servant; He served God and Man and also received service from others.
Ø The job of a Kingdom leader is to help the people to win, A LEADER IS A COACH & MENTOR and is objectively focused to help Kingdom people to exell in Business, As professionals, As Christians, As ministers, As Parents, As Citizens, As Students and the programs and teachings must directed to achieve that.
ØThe Kingdom leader is the caretaker of THE ORGANIZATION SET UP OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD, that is why a leader should empower himself with wisdom and skills of administration, group management, resource stewardship, human resource management,
ØA Kingdom leader must build people up not tear them down, God brings all types of people with different levels who have DREAMS, VISIONS & LIFE ASPIRATIONS THAT REQUIRE BUILDING. We must seek to build in capacity building, exposure, prayer, prophetic proclamations and nature to transform lives.
ØThe Kingdom leader has to use his power in a manner that benefits both the followers and the organization. MISUSE of power breaks people and organization and puts us in BAD BOOKS WITH GOD WHO OWNS THE KINGDOM. Authority is like soap, the more you use it the less you have it. DON’T MISS USE IT.
ØKingdom Leadership must give followers room to grow, make decisions and respond to the will of God and leadership out of a willing heart. WE ARE CARETAKERS OF GODS VINEYARD, THE PEOPLE BELONG TO GOD.
ØA man convinced against his own will remains a man unconvinced. That is why Kingdom leadership is GRADUAL LONG TERM PROCESS OF MAKING PEOPLE BELIEVE IN GOD and in Us. (Jesus took time to win the confidence of disciples, accept them in there weaknesses, be patient with them until He made them what GREAT LEADERS.
ØKingdom Leadership must use their power to INFLUENCE and not to manipulate or control people.
ØOn Kingdom administration Ethics, Dialogue is important to a leader who wants to influence and not to control. That is why feedback is important in church administration and should not be received as CRITISM ALWAYS. (Jesus asked his disciple about his public image after a while to know His level of achievement in the Vision). Dialogue is what blood is to the body
ØA kingdom leader should learn to use the potential in his leaders / congregation WISELY, Give them room to serve, use their professional skills, experiences, talents and skills BUT WITH GUIDANCE, Jesus after first level mentorship gave his disciple ROOM to do ministry, Moses was led to children of Uri who had professional Knowledge to Craft Gold in tabernacles, Solomon Choose wise men who could administer the building of the Temple.
(There’s a lot of creativity and innovation among followers).
ØThe leader must set an example for the follower to follow; A leaders life is an example WHETHER CONTIOUSLY OR UNCONTIOUSLY. The life example in faith, character, diligence, rest, joy, prosperity, family life is a MODEL SET UP for his people. Paul was confident to say follow me us I follow Christ.
Ø Kingdom leaders must learn to REST AND HAVE JOY IN THE WORK. this both relaxes the people whom you lead to see you human, associate with you with honor and a sense of humor will keep you from cracking up at pressure times. ( Without extreme exposure learn that may make them GET USED, Occasionally team build with your members in Outings, Holidays )
ØEvery great Kingdom leader in history has been criticized or unpopular. Manage your response to critism. BEING CALLED A DOG DOES NOT MAKE YOU HAVE A TAIL. At times don’t waste time to answer or respond especially in the pulpit. You get other people involved in a fight which they were not even aware of. Nehemiah refused to COME DOWN from the business of the wall to answer critics ( Tobiah / Sanballat) LET YOUR FRUIT AND GOD SPEAK FOR YOU AT THE END.
ØKingdom Leaders are people who can create and communicate vision and strategies because management deals with status quo and leadership deals with change. A LEADER SHOULD BE ABLE TO PURSUADE OTHERS.
ØAll good Kingdom leadership starts with visionary role first, then the people come and learn and Embrace the VISION AFTER IT HAS BEEN MADE CLEAR AND DEMONSTRATED. Don’t begin a Church and ministries by appointing leaders DEMONSTRATE THE VISION FIRST.
ØLeadership is all about going somewhere, like a river DON’T SPREAD YOUR WATER TOO WIDE WITHOUT BANKS UNTIL YOU STOP THE RIVER FLOWING, A river without banks is a large puddle; the banks permit the river to flow and give direction to the river. Know your mission and assignment. HAVE PEOPLE AROUND YOU WHO CAN HELP YOU “INSPECT & RESTORE YOUR BANKS”
ØKingdom leaders after inspecting goals may , have sometimes need to abandon some activities even good activities if they are not serving the vision and mission anymore Without a clear goal that makes sense to all involved the vision will never leave the script where its scripted
ØIgnorance of where you’re going makes your leadership meaningless. A kingdom Leader Must take time to understand his TOOLS, OBJECTIVES, MANDATES, ASSIGNEMENTS.
ØMovement without boundaries chews up people and resources as it changes direction without warning. ALWAYS INSPECT YOUR VISION AND MISSION TO STAY ON COURSE.
ØThe leader must clearly define the vision and mission for the organization
ØVision - Where you are going.
Mission - how you will get there
Goals - when and how you will fulfill your mission, It takes mission to achieve the vision.
ØGoals are measurable steps designed to achieve the mission. Vision and mission remains constant but goals are reviewed often .Vision needs mission and set of goals if ever it will become a reality. Visionaries are always ready to move to the next vision. Goals come from values and always tell what is important. Goals keeps you from investing time in matters that don’t matter
ØFor a kingdom vision to be realized there must be regular accountability meetings to check the progress of the goals that will keep your vision, mission in focus. Goals must be practical achievable goals and consistent with your vision mission. Without goals the vision cannot and will not be achieved. Goal setting is an ongoing discipline of a true leader
ØKingdom vision is worth all efforts, It is our crown, Holds destiny of somebody else (BIRDS OF THE AIR), It is our purpose and assignment, It is our fulfillment, it is our Provision, It is our course for Long life and protection, It is our Heritage and generational blessing.
ØKingdom Leaders will need to Know how to identify working solutions and opportunities, Feed your opportunities starve your problems.
ØKingdom Leaders need to know how to clean up old methods to receive new wine, new opportunities may knock on the door but if the sitting room is filled with problems they can’t get in.
ØKingdom Leadership is earned, not demanded nor given. Do your best to Keep Integrity High, in moral, financial, intellectual, relationships to stay in Peoples Trust. A leader must prove himself trustworthy and give the followers a chance to do the same, Trust can be sometimes abused and to restore it is a project and sometimes ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE.
ØIt is people who make a leader effective. Therefore always pray to have the RIGHT PEOPLE AND VISION ASSOCIATES; Jesus prayed a whole night to choose his disciples.
Ø No leader is perfect; Peter Denied Jesus yet became a great Apostle. Learn to minimize mistakes in the spirit of Excellence / learn through previous mistakes/ Other people Mistakes/ biblical testimonies and learn to FORGIVE YOURSELF AND OTHERS THAT WERE INVOLVED IN YOUR LIFE MISTAKES. (Looking unto the things behind pressing to grasp things ahead.
ØIn transition of Kingdom Leadership never condemn another leader publicly; you will be training your members to fight you, when you make a mistake. If people oust your predecessor they can oust you too. David was careful at take over not to have anybody Fight Saul. Do not back up members who were involved in fighting and ousting another leader.
ØFailure destroys the confidence of the followers because it destroys the credibility of the leader. Avoid in jumping into so many projects and program WITHOUT PROPER FEASIBILITY. It can be a point of discouragement and that will make people begin to inspect or doubt your calling, STRAY PROPHETIC WORDS, STALE PROGRAMS, STRAY DIRECTIONS. Success motivates the people. The people were happy, motivated and had a count that David Had killed his ten-thousands.
ØKingdom leaders must be creative, Creativity is one thing that can’t be put in a box, its free to roll. The world is changing Let people see new things happening AS LONG AS THEY ARE IN THE GOALS AND VISION. GOD is also doing new things. ( Church decors, set-ups, new programs etc) Creative leaders tend to live in the creative side of their personality .BUT creativity of the creative leader can begin to work against their vision because visionaries are always ready to on to the next vision.
ØVision requires commitment to act .Commitment to act is what we call mission-getting out.
ØMicromanagement of a vision process frustrates key gifted/skilled people and also can kill the team approach to accomplish a vision that is larger than a visionary leader can accomplish. However do not OVER DELEGATE and Always have a system of accountability when you delegate.
ØA price has to be paid to become an effective leader. Loneliness, adverse opinion, rejection, long hours in prayers and planning, mis-understood, Seeking Knowledge / wisdom. Leadership is not something that happens naturally YOU MUST PAY THE PRICE TO WORK IT OUT. No pain no gain, Jesus led not because he was a son but because he paid the price.
ØThe success of a leader is in his ability to react quickly and correctly. Patience is important for Kingdom Leaders BUT to much Delay may cause the Tares / Lea then to INCREASE and destroy. A leadership mistake of NOT ACTING OR ACTING UNWISELY can cost an organization it’s very existence.
ØLeadership call and journey starts from within and manifest itself when someone step out in front of the crowd and crowd follows. GROWING IN, IS GROWING OUT.
ØKnowing who you are and what you are to do, keeps you on course. Take time not only to discover your mission BUT ALSO YOUR POTENTIALS, TALENTS. The strength of a leader comes from knowing who you are and where the essence of your leadership comes from. You can’t be the best leader possible if you are trying to be like someone else. Every leader must learn who they are and are not. Do what you can do to learn who you are and are not
ØKingdom Leaders must lead in generosity. The giving of resources of the people is measured by how the leader is giving to it. Giving is spiritual and physical, Impartation is automatic. David / Solomon & leaders of the people led in giving BIG TIME for Temple and people responded in a similar way. ( MY TESTIMONY IN BULDING THE CHURCH, WE LED IN GIVING)
ØA leader must be a good listener. In counseling, in receiving administrative feedback, In receiving Advice ( Moses & Jethro) Listening is the way to learning
Ø Kingdom leaders must learn to say Thank you to people for coming, for giving, for serving, for giving, for services given. It is NOT A RIGHT to have people around you doing good to you and vision. Good leaders need to recognize and reward good people around them.
ØLeaders are born and made. Divine predestined destiny must be combined with preparation and positioning yourselves to accomplish it with all necessary resources and capacity building. ( Jeremiah, Paul, Disciples)
ØTrue kingdom leaders respect authority and the calling of others. A kingdom divided cannot stand. ( Romans 13:1-7) Demons respects each other in Hiracy but Kingdom people at times take lightly. (Early Church network. Peter respected by all , Peter respected Paul, Networking, consultations on Doctrines, ministry, Joint missions, ETC. We must honor them that are on authority even though they do not deserve it. The principle of not honoring authority is very costly.
ØKingdom Leaders are led by vision and Gods GRACING AT A TIME AND ASSIGNMENT LEVELS. Not SELF AMBITIONS AND COMPETION OF BECOMING SOMETHING. Learn to control ambitions. Other people achievements can motivate and educate you but not To CONFUSE YOU.
ØEffective Kingdom leaders never stop growing. You must always seek for GREEN pastures to offer those who come to you.
ØA Kingdom leader must learn to be patient with himself and others. Otherwise you can destroy yourself and MISS THE PROMISED LAND and also provoke others to miss it too.
ØA leader’s experiences and setbacks can also be a Lesson to mentor others on. Learn how to interpret Gods work in us to HELP OTHERS as life lessons, testimonies and Models.
ØEffective time management is the key element in the successful style and role of a leader. Time is the greatest equalizer among people and leaders. What you do with time determines how successful you are and effective your leadership will be. The supper achievers know when to say no and always know what to reach out for, where to place themselves.
ØYou have all the time in the world but not all the time there is. We are finite and have to make choices on what to do with our time
ØA leader must learn what motivates people and win their support. Some people are motivated by relationships and routine if you are rough as a leader you loose their support. If you a poor motivator you will persuade other people to follow. YOU WILL RUN ALONE & NEVER GO FAR & NO REGACY DUPLICATION IN OTHERS.
ØA kingdom Leader must be full of Wisdom. Wisdom is defined as prudence in the management of affairs. The write application of Knowledge doing the right thing, right time, saying the right thing to the right person in the right tone and atmosphere. ( Prophet Nathan Correcting David, Priscilla & Aquilla correcting Apollos, Jethro advicing moses, Peters though on handling widows cry, Paul handling Doctrinal disputes at corith, Solomon handling desputes of Parent etc) .Wisdom is following the soundest course of action based on knowledge, experience, understanding e.t.c The price of leadership for Daniel was wisdom
ØKingdom Successful leaders reproduce others, they disciple others to assist them and carry the job when they are gone. They are not MEAN IN POURING THEMSELVES TO OTHERS. Teaching is how ideas and values get transmitted. If you are not teaching you are not leading. Great teachers make great leaders. Great commission MAKE DISCIPLES, Jesus raised leaders, Paul raised sons, Moses Raised Joshua & other leaders; Elijah raised Elisha & other prophets in the school.
ØKingdom Leaders must walk in Integrity, Integrity does not require perfection but demands responsibility for wrongs done and taking of steps to correct them .Integrity is at the heart of character. God given capacity to lead has two parts giftedness and character
1.Integrity does not cost you your leadership but enhances your leadership
2.Integrity is conforming reality to our words i.e. keeping promises and fulfilling expectations
3.Integrity requires an integrated character a oneness primary with self but also with life.
4.Integrity includes honesty but goes beyond it
5.Integrity demands that a leader take ownership for mistakes done and make it right
ØA Kingdom leader must be sober and low tempted. The fruit of the holyspirit can help in this to overcome freshly reactions. A leader must keep his head when all about him are loosing theirs and blaming it on him.
ØA leader is to trust and believe in Himself when all men doubt you but make allowance for their doubting too.
ØA Kingdom leader must be human, Do not look too good or talk too wise or over righteous, over spiritual. It denies a minister the SOULISH JOY of being human and relating to others in the natural. IT LEADS TO LONELINESS, DEFENCE MECHANISMS, HATRED & BITTERNESS FOR LEADERSHIP, Deception, Pride ( Thinking you are the only one ELIJAH) Paul knew when to Says This is I not the Lord, Jesus was never having Leadership frustrations ( visited zacheous, slept, etc)
ØDreaming is free but don’t make your dreams your master, LIVE and work out leadership dynamics let the dreams be fulfilled in Gods timing & God Design. Think but do not make your thoughts your life aim and purpose for joy. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR VISION TO FRUSTRATE YOU. The Burden of the Lord is light.
ØBe real all the Time , If you can meet with triumph and disaster treat those two imposters the same, Talk to the crowds and keep your virtue, talk to few feel satisfied, Walk with the kings and loose not the common touch. Jesus walked with great and least. Paul said he knew how to abase and abound.
